“When Cam and I decided to get married after 16 years together, the last thing we wanted was a ‘regular’ wedding. We wanted a celebration of who we were and for the amazing friends and family around us.
Of course, no matter how you want your wedding to run, that doesn’t mean you don’t still have all those ‘wedding things’ to arrange! And slightly unwisely, I left arranging a photographer until quite late in the process.
With the realisation the date was approaching fast, I decided to put the call out to friends and family. A very good friend, who’s in the business of making great parties for a living, recommended Achilles as “both a great party and event photographer but a well experienced wedding photographer too!”
Although we knew we’d want a few ‘traditional’ family-group photos, more than anything we wanted a great set of party photos, and importantly we wanted someone who was going to be upfront enough to make sure he got at least one photo of every one of our guests.
Achilles was great at chatting to us on the day, to make sure we got those special family photos we wanted, but more importantly, he ‘worked’ the room and at times seemed to be everywhere at once. Many of our guests commented on how much fun he was to be around, that at no time did they feel he was intruding and that really, he seemed to be enjoying the day as much as any other guest.
We now feel so lucky and blessed that Achilles was available for our special day.
The resulting suite of photos from our day are nothing short of outstanding.
Achilles has captured the essence of our venue, our beautifully informal ceremony, and all the special moments throughout the evening.
